I've had great experience with Epson-compatible cartridges from
Carrot Ink. I buy their "Carrot's Bunch", which includes 4 black and
3 color cartridges. That works out to about $8 US per cartridge. They have
periodic specials; I recently (in November) placed an order for a Carrot
Bunch for my Epson 1520, and they threw in a free color cartridge. And they
work as soon as they're installed in the printer; with other clone
cartridges, I've had to perform four or five clearning cycles before they
would print properly.

For the best prices I could find on Genuine Epson Intellidge Cartridges (currently free shipping): FJA Products
For the best prices (and quality) I could find on generic color compatible cartridges use Carrot Ink
For the absolute cheapest price (and top quality) you can use the refill kits (which include resetter!) I found here: Atlascopy.com
